As expected for the weekend, Cuban Jorge Soler came off the injured list. After 12 days out due to a right oblique strain, the Cuban slugger's return could not have been more timely: he hit a two-run home run in the Miami Marlins' 16-2 victory over the Atlanta Braves.
The 411-foot bomb was Soler's 36th home run this season — he moved to lead among Cuban hitters — albeit his fourth against a changeup, after crushing a just-81.1 mph pitch from right-handed reliever Dereck Rodríguez*.
