There have been many reasons that have influenced the existence of a challenging rivalry. Some of them are due to the fact that Industriales is the top winner in the history of the National Series with 12 titles and the geographical proximity of both provinces, which has led to the exchange of players and even coaches. Jorge Enrique Alomá, Yosvany Peñalver, Roberto Acevedo and Yamil Rivalta stand out among the current players of the Industriales team who in previous years wore the Cazadores uniform.

The Lions' current top coach, Javier Drake, was part of the Hunters' management two seasons ago. Outfielders Carlos De La Tejera and Yansué Moré, natives of Havana, have developed their respective careers with the Cazadores.
