Every stumble, worse than the first

Well, I don't know if it happens to you too, but every once in a while — although I couldn't say when — I tend to reread (or at least keep close to) my favorite books. It also happens to me with special places that I have visited with my wife Ruth, where we have had a good time. I think we will always return to the places where we once felt good.

So I read it again, even if it's just a small fragment. It feels good. And a similar feeling was what happened to me when the opening day of baseball at these Pan American Games in Santiago, 2023, approached. I still keep a pile of newspaper clippings with baseball news, and at some point, I brave the dust to return to them. every story within them. Although I was full of coverage in the Major League Baseball postseason, following the exciting performances of the Cuban players, I also had a space to follow the Cuban national team.

Luckily, before the tournament began, the official site of the event was updated, something that did not happen with the site where it was expected to see the information on the last V Caribbean Baseball Cup. So, I did a quick search. Something normal. Basically, like perhaps you too, I'm starting to get familiar with team rosters. It is not usual for high-profile players to appear, of course, especially assuming that the main Caribbean leagues have started their championships since mid-October.

So, I did a little preliminary analysis. And as a possible contender, of course, the Cuba team also appeared.
